Dr. Ayooluwatunde Oluteye (MWACP-West Africa, FRCPCH-UK, FRACP-Australia), known as Dr. Tunde, has been a General Paediatrician for over two decades, with a career spanning three continents—Africa, Europe, and Australia.
Dr. Tunde’s journey in paediatrics began nearly 25 years ago in Nigeria. After graduating from medical school in 1995, he worked in the private health sector for a few years, contemplating his future career direction. During his undergraduate medical training, he discovered a deep passion for working with children. This calling drove him to specialise in paediatrics, driven by a desire to help children and their families overcome illness and lead healthy, thriving lives.
Following his initial postgraduate training in Nigeria, which lasted about five years, Dr. Tunde moved to the United Kingdom to further his paediatric training. Over the course of seven years, he trained in the North Thames Paediatric rotation in London, working at several prestigious institutions, including St. Mary’s Hospital, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital Neonatal Unit, and Royal London Hospital, among others.
After completing his training in England in 2014, Dr. Tunde broadened his experience by working across various regions in the UK, including Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In Belfast, he spent nearly four years at The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children before relocating to Australia with his family in mid-2022.
Upon arriving in Australia, Dr. Tunde joined Tweed Hospital in New South Wales and has since obtained his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Paediatrics.
